A couple weeks ago we blasted the Farmington mayor for comments he made during his State of the County speech.

After numerous friends of the Herald called the mayor, he quickly disclaimed the comments he had made. He promised to make a public apology at the Farmington City Council meeting on May 11 and so the Herald showed up.
“In March I attended the St. Francois County get-together, tell-you-what’s-going-on-in-your-community thing and I made a remark about marijuana and the people who smoke it . . . it was very unfortunate that I said that. I did not know at the time and I did not realize that I was putting two different kind of people — the one that use it for medical and the one that use it for recreational — and I’m very sorry about that. I apologize. It was very inappropriate of me to do that and that is all I’m gonna say about it now.”
